1995 Pontiac Grand am?

How do i change the rear spark plugs its a 6 cylinder. i can not seem to get to them no matter what i do. i have heard that you have to take off the motor mounts and move the motor forward but how do i do this? where are the motor mounts located?1995 Pontiac Grand am?
Im going to assume you have either the 3.1 or the 2.8 v6. if that is the case its a PIA to do it correctly and insure you dont strip the holes or anythin you have to disconnect the rear motor mount and jack the engine up, or grab it at the hook on the back of the engine (metal plate with a hole in it at the top back of engine)and hoist it up with an engine hoist. thats what it calls for in the repair manual. Ive done it a few times on a beretta I had and it was a pain each time.

its possible to just get your hand around and slip the plugs in but you will need a swivel socket to tighten them down and like I said you risk messing up the threads. thanks again to GM for horribly overcomplicated design.

the mount is located at the back bottom of the engine. disconnecting one or more of the side mounts will make it easier as well. sorry for the harsh truth but good luck

.(atleast disconnecting the mount isnt really to hard )1995 Pontiac Grand am?
Get on the left side of the car, (drivers side). You will need a 3/8 drive ratchet, 2 inch extension and a swivel. Reach past the brake booster and you can get to everyone of them without jacking car, going under car or removing any motor mounts. I had two 95's with the 3.1 and never heard of removing motor mounts. My neighbor had a 95 lumina that he was paying a guy almost $200.00 to do a tuneup on. It had the same engine as my grand am, and the guy told him there was special tools and needed to be on a lift and disconnecting exhaust, blah blah blah. I showed him a set of plugs from auto zone was around $20.00 and I would do it in the driveway in about 30 minutes and never need a jack or any special tools. He wanted to see this, so I showed him. He changed his own after that. Good luck and God Bless.
