How much work is it to change head gaskets on a front wheel drive fuel injected engine?

Rhetorical question: a whole lotta bucks -- usually 1,000.00 plus, down down. More if it is a frontwheel drive sideways mounted motor.

Pull the spider %26amp; the fuel control, all othr **** cluttering top of engine, get the intake off, remove bolts from exhaust manifolds, untorque %26amp; remove head bolts. Now come parts. Reinstall in reverse.

How much work is it to pour a tube of aluma seal into radiater? About 5 minutes %26amp; 5$.

Is it guaranteed to fix your leak? No, but it's got a good track record.

Has it ever %26quot;clogged%26quot; (haha) an engine up? No documented cases -- it bonds, not clogs SMALL cracks %26amp; holes.

Have I used it? Yes, mostly on the Ford Taurus w/ 3.8 %26amp; history of leaking head gaskets. Success? Interemittent. Damage? None. Could I have made more money saying %26quot;dude, I'm going to need to charge you minimum of 1200.00$ max of 1600.00$? Ha! %26quot;Think about it.%26quot;

Are you asking a question or making a statement that you are looking for validation of your actions? Myself, I would Truly be disappointed if you were my mechanic and I would be looking else where for a mechanic that I could have faith in. It is just this type of shady workman ship that gives good techs a reputation that has to be over come by good deeds. You say more than 18 years, well I say more than 43 years and I enjoy doing my job the right way the first time every time. Maybe you need to change your career for something that you like to do.How much work is it to change head gaskets on a front wheel drive fuel injected engine?
Rhetorical answer: In a whole lot more years than 18 repairing automobiles, I have never found any magic solution that will %26quot;repair%26quot; a blown head gasket.

My honest opinion? You'd be doing your customer a greater service by replacing the head gasket if the customer plans on keeping the vehicle for any significant length of time.How much work is it to change head gaskets on a front wheel drive fuel injected engine?

radiator sealant clogs up the veins in the radiator. these veins as u know are already small ports running from side to side in the radiator to cool the water.. it also adds deposits to the engine and waterpump and can sometimes collect around the thermostat.. if your looking for a quick fix until u can repair your vehicle youll end up replacing more parts in the end,, if your loooking to just fix and sell and not care what happens to the next guy then your on the right track..

i charge 350 labor plus est 100 in parts (gasket/oil/coolant) and 50 per head to local machine shop to pressure test and resurface.., usual total cost to customer is under 700,, any engine... besides northstars.. fix it right man,, Art
