I have a 89 chevy s-10 and I'd like to install a 350 V8 and a 700R4 tranny! Is there any books to tell me how?

I heard GM sells a kit for the swap, where can you buy these?

Do i need to change motor mount positions?

Will the 700R4 fit under the cab floor without floor modifications?

It currently has a 2.8 V-6 with a 5 spd manual!I have a 89 chevy s-10 and I%26039;d like to install a 350 V8 and a 700R4 tranny! Is there any books to tell me how?
I have built many of these S10 and Blazer Sanoma S15.



I have put everything from a 305 to a 454 in them.



There is a engine swap kit:

Basically you will need:

engine

trans

radiator

driveshaft

headers - for V8 swap

fuel pressure regulator

V8 mini starter

engine mounts - for V8 swap

And finally the actual engine mounts

Along with the transmission mount (crossmember)

If it is a 4x4 you will also need a new oil pan for the swap

if you,ll ask at any parts store they have a kit now that comes with mounts,and engine stands,and everything you need to do it with,and its cheaper to buy the kit than to try and come up with the parts on your own,or from a salvage yard,the kit makes it a lot easier to do,there's still things that have to be changed around,but you,ll get it in there,i have done a lot of those,that's one of the easiest swaps to do ,advance or auto zone either one can order you the kit for it,good luck.I have a 89 chevy s-10 and I%26039;d like to install a 350 V8 and a 700R4 tranny! You want to get a book called Chilton's for your truck first and the Swap kit is sold at a parts store. Both are sold at a parts store like Car Quest, Napa auto parts, or Checker. I have Chilton books for every vehicle I have cause I am the one who works on my cars. Your motor mounts I have no clue on I forgot what they look like on the S-10 but it should fit I know that the 700R4 will be easy if you have a big jack to put it in place.
